SEG Solar CEO Jim Wood Invited to Join “Scaling Production in the U.S.” Panel at pv magazine USA Week 2026
From October 20–22, 2026, pv magazine USA Week 2026 was successfully held as a virtual conference, bringing together industry leaders to explore key trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the U.S. solar and energy storage markets. SEG Solar ("SEG"), a leading fully integrated American solar manufacturer, was invited to participate in the event, where CEO Jim Wood joined the Day 1 panel discussion, "Scaling Production in the U.S.," and shared SEG's perspective on the real-world execution of domestic solar manufacturing.

During the panel, industry experts and company representatives discussed key challenges in bringing new factories online, ramping up production and scaling operations. They also examined how uncertainty surrounding Section 232 affects manufacturers’ pricing decisions and developers’ project planning, underscoring the importance of policy clarity in supporting investment and contracting.
“As development of our Tomball Industrial Campus progresses, we expect to begin U.S. cell production in 2028,” said Jim Wood, CEO of SEG Solar. “This milestone will further advance SEG’s vertically integrated clustered manufacturing model spanning ingots, wafers, cells and modules, enabling closer coordination across production stages, greater cost control and a more resilient supply chain.”
As SEG advances its U.S. expansion, securing a skilled, stable workforce has become a key operational challenge alongside policy uncertainty. To address this challenge, SEG has made talent development and recruitment integral to its long-term manufacturing strategy. The company builds experienced teams through training at operating factories to meet staffing needs at new facilities, while community college partnerships and Texas A&M internship programs attract local students and graduates. Together, these initiatives strengthen SEG’s talent pipeline, supporting workforce stability and consistent module production as the company scales.
Through its participation in PV Magazine USA Week 2026, SEG reaffirmed its long-term commitment to U.S. manufacturing. Looking ahead, the company will continue to scale domestic production, strengthen supply-chain transparency and resilience, and provide the U.S. solar market with high-efficiency, reliable solar products and a stable supply.
