SEG Solar Invited to Participate in Electricity Connect 2025, Sharing Insights on Indonesia's Energy Transition Strategy
JAKARTA, INDONESIA – November 21, 2025 – SEG Solar ("SEG"), a leading U.S. photovoltaic solar module manufacturer, was invited to participate in the Electricity Connect 2025 forum held at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC). Jonathan Sutanto ("Jonathan"), Director of Business Development for SEG Indonesia, delivered a keynote address on accelerating Indonesia's domestic solar cell manufacturing, underscoring SEG's strategic role in supporting the nation's clean energy transition.

As part of Indonesia's long-term national energy strategy, the National Electricity General Plan (RUKN) and the 2025–2034 Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) outline ambitious goals: increasing the renewable energy share to 21% by 2030 and 74% by 2060, with 76% of the additional 69.5 GW of power capacity in the next decade sourced from renewable energy. Jonathan highlighted Indonesia’s strong prospects for new energy development and outlined SEG’s comprehensive strategic vision for building a solar manufacturing ecosystem within the country.

Building on SEG's 101.14-acre vertically integrated manufacturing complex in Batang Industrial Park, Central Java, the company is advancing domestic value-chain capabilities, enhancing supply chain resilience, and enabling the large-scale deployment of renewable energy to support Indonesia's rapid energy transition. SEG currently operates four high-efficiency solar cell production lines at the Batang facility, delivering an annual production capacity of 2 GW with an average conversion efficiency of 26.4%. These products demonstrate exceptional power output and long-term stability, and the team completed the first batch of deliveries in May this year. In subsequent phases, SEG plans to scale cell production capacity to 5 GW per year and extend upstream operations to establish a fully integrated manufacturing chain covering silicon ingots, wafers, cells, and modules—further strengthening Indonesia-based production and advancing SEG's long-term strategic presence in the country.

Leveraging its strengths in photovoltaic manufacturing and localized supply chains, SEG will continue to strengthen collaboration with the Indonesian government, regulatory authorities, and industry partners. In turn, these combined efforts will advance Indonesia’s domestic manufacturing capabilities, support long-term energy self-sufficiency, and accelerate the transition toward a cleaner and more efficient energy future.
