Recap: Intersolar Webinar Explores American-manufactured Solar and Domestic Supply Chain Strategies

During the session, SEG President & CEO Jim Wood joined IESNA Digital Editor Krista Simicich in a deep dive into how evolving trade policies are reshaping the U.S. solar market—and how SEG is navigating this complex landscape through cutting-edge manufacturing, strategic domestic investments, and a rigorous compliance framework to deliver sustainable growth and earn the trust of utility-scale customers.

Amid a confluence of trade restrictions—including Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) limitations, Section 232 national security tariffs, and ongoing anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) measures—the U.S. solar industry is undergoing a systemic reconfiguration of its supply chain, accelerating toward greater localization, transparency, and regulatory compliance. As a 100% U.S.-owned and operated manufacturer, SEG has implemented a comprehensive compliance management system that ensures full traceability of critical raw materials and strict adherence to all applicable regulations. The company’s modules already meet the “qualified domestic content” thresholds under both the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and OBBBA (One Big Beautiful Bill Act).
